This article answers employees' most common questions about Aurem.

Opening Your Account

I received an email about Aurem from my employer, what do I need to do?

Download the Aurem app and you will be guided through the setup process.

What documents are required to create an Aurem account?

You do not need documents to open an Aurem account.

How long does it take to create my account?

It usually takes a few minutes to create your account.

If there are any issues with the setup process Aurem will get in touch using your company email address.

Do I have to pay for Aurem?

It’s free for you to use your Aurem account.

Aurem charges a fee on funds being managed by Aurem. The fee is between 1% and 1.19% and is deducted from their fund.

All our fees are explained in our Schedule of Fees section, and in the app before you are charged.

Aurem charges your employer a small fee to operate your account.


Privacy & Security

Is the Aurem app secure?

Aurem uses your password and your device biometrics to stay secure.

You can enable multi-factor authorisation to keep the app even more secure.

Who can access my account?

Your employer cannot access your Aurem account, but they can change your personal details:

  • Name

  • Date of birth

  • Emirates ID number

  • MOL ID number

  • Email address

  • Employment start date

  • Employment end date

  • Total monthly salary

  • Basic monthly salary

  • IBAN

  • Level

  • Department

  • Job Title

Who can see my account?

Your employer can see any requests that you have submit. They can see requests that are cancelled by you or rejected by them.

Aurem Support can see your account details when you raise a support request.

Only you can see the information in the Personal section of the Aurem app.

Are Aurem transactions legitimate?

Aurem is licensed by Abu Dhabi Global Markets to provide financial services.

Aurem follows the Financial Services Regulatory Authority’s rules and is audited by them.

Who do you share my data with?

We don’t sell your data to anyone. Your data is shared with some of our processing partners, for example to check your identity.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on secure servers in the UAE. Access is restricted to these servers, and the data is encrypted with AES256.

Can I nominate someone to get access to my Aurem app in case something happens to me?

Yes. Use the Nominate option in the app to give the details of a family member.

This person will receive your benefits if you die.


Allowances

What are allowances?

Money assigned to you by your employer for a specific purpose, such as transportation, schooling or housing.

How do I use the allowances?

Purchase the item (travel ticket, school fees, etc) and save the receipt.

Open the Aurem app and go to the Allowances section.

Tap on the allowance and upload the receipt.

How frequently can I submit allowance requests?

You can submit allowance requests as frequently as needed.

What happens if I request more than the remaining balance in my allowance?

Your employer will only repay up to the remaining balance in your allowance.

What happens if I don’t spend my entire allowance?

Allowances reset at a date chosen by your employer.

Any allowance not spent before the reset date will not roll over.

How long does it take to get my money?

Your employer will reimburse you through their usual expenses process.

Check with your employer whether they pay expenses as they are approved, or in a batch once per month.

How can I check if my allowance request is approved by my employer?

You will be notified by:

  • Email to your work email address

  • Push notification to your personal device

You can also open the Aurem app and tap on Allowances to see the status of your request.

Can I add notes to my allowance request?

No. You can select the type of allowance, and submit a receipt.

How much does it cost to use the allowances feature?

There is no cost to employees to use the allowances feature.

Why was my allowance request rejected?

Your employer will enter a rejection reason.

The rejection reason will be listed:

  • In the Aurem app

  • In an email to your work email address

Speak to your employer if you need more detail.

Can I edit an allowance request after it’s submitted?

No. You must cancel the request and resubmit in the Aurem app.

How can I fix an incorrect allowance amount?

Allowance amounts are set by your employer.

Talk to your employer if you think the allowance amount listed in your Aurem app is incorrect.

How can I request an increase in an allowance?

Allowance amounts are set by your employer.

Talk to your employer if you think the allowance amount listed in your Aurem app should be increased.


Support

I’m locked out of my account. How can I get back in?

Open the Aurem app and select Forgot Password.

How can I correct wrong information in the Aurem app?

You can flag incorrect personal information when you sign up for Aurem.

Reach out to your employer to correct any information after you have completed the signup.

If you have left your employer you can change your information in the Aurem app.

I suspect fraud on my account. What should I do?

Get in touch with your employer and Aurem to report the fraud.

My employer hasn’t made the correct contributions, how can I correct this?

Aurem automatically notifies employers if their contributions look incorrect.

Speak to your employer if you think they made a mistake with your contributions.
